What a nice surprise we had on Thursday when Fish & Game pulled in and dumped 2,000 lbs. of trout on Thursday. On top of all the plants we did in the past 5 weeks with trophy fish and catchables, that will make a busy fishing winter for us. If the weather breaks, you ought to have everything loaded so you can shoot up here and catch some trout!! I just spoke with a camper who said this week was the best fishing excursion he and his buddies have ever had!! They caught and released around 40 trout and kept 3 for supper.

Kong Xiong, pictured above & his boys were Bluegill fishing with redworms and hooked a gigantic 9 lb. 8 oz. trout from shore in the Open Area, that was a thrill for them. Ean Valenzuela, Photo #1 was camping with a group in the Open Area and while trolling with a Kastmaster he hooked onto a 5 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow trout, also held up in a photo by his good buddy Gary Deas, Photo #2.

Rick, Anna, & Grant were trolling by the island and caught a 7 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow on a Rapala. These stories are not so uncommon these days since those are the sizes of the plants we put in over the past five weeks. A group of guys known as the Bellgas Group, Photo #3 were fishing in Elmer's Cove and using Capt. America Powerbait, lucked into a 7 lb. 12 oz. trout!!

Ricardo Gomez, Photo #4 and his crew "cleaned up" over the weekend they took home 20 Rainbows caught by Israel Neri, Bertoni Delong, Juan & Samuel and best of all Ricardo caught a 7 lb. 4 oz. monster. Good times, great memories are made at Collins Lake!!

Brandon Lankford, Photo #5 of Wheatland used his own setup (a bomber with a rattle trap trailing) trolling by the dam and hooked onto a 5 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow, way to go Brandon......

Ed Murphy & Kevin Doyle took home 7 Rainbows, their biggest a 3 lb. 8 oz. while trolling Kastmasters on the east side. Dave & Kevin of Yuba City slayed the Bass this week, a limit each on rubber worms.
