Lake Kaweah rose to 65% of its storage capacity and fishing improved. Anglers still needed to work to locate active bass in the rising water, but the bite was noticeably better overall. Senko-style baits continued to produce, along with drop-shot rigs, hula grubs, and small swimbaits. The most productive areas for bass were main lake points and secondary points. Crappie action was decent in Horse Creek, where anglers had success using mini jigs and small live minnows. Catfish were also biting, with dip bait and chicken liver proving to be the top choices.
