Bass anglers are finding success as the water rises at Lake Oroville, reported Fil Torres at Oroville Outdoors. "The bass are biting well in 20 feet of water and shallower", observed Torres. "Nothing really large, but there are occasional three and four pounders showing, and a five pounder was caught in last weekend's Pro-Am. Lots of bass are being caught on tubes, jerkbaits and slow-rolled spinnerbaits."
Torres continued, "The fish are spread out all over the lake, including the south fork, middle fork, north fork, west branch and main body, on points with little cuts. The bass want to spawn, but with the rising water they are holding off. So far there are no fish on beds."

Sacramento RiverGood numbers of sturgeon are the story on the Sacramento River, according to Richard Peeples at the Tackle Box in Chico.
