Lake Almanor - CA (Plumas County)

Spring is starting to show at Lake Almanor, reported Doug Neal at Almanor Fishing Adventures. "On Wednesday afternoon we landed four nice rainbows while trolling along the east shore", said Neal. "The fish we saw were either right on top or right on the bottom, but the ones on top were the biters. The best fish was 20 inches, the rest were smaller. We got all of our fish on threaded crawlers scented with Pro-Cure, downrigged at two and six feet. We set the lines 200 feet behind the boat, at .5 to .8 mph."
Neal added, "Water clarity has really improved, and the surface temps are on the upswing too, reaching 41 degrees by mid afternoon. The warm sunny days have a few bugs starting to hatch."
