Lake Don Pedro

This week King Salmon were far and few between. The cool temperatures and the strong afternoon winds scattered the bait fish. However, we did manage to find some nice 1 to 2.5 pound fish. The Kings are still 80 to 90 feet deep on the south end of Jenkins Hill near Ramos creek. Shad injected with Pro Cure, shad pattern Ex-Cell's, Thin Fins and Arctic Fox trolling flies all caught fish.
Weather on the other hand didn't seem to bother the Kokanee. We caught 12 to 14 inch fish reasonably easy. The small salmon fell for Uncle Larry's pink spinners, Hoochies, Sockeye slammers and Marni bugs with Pro Cure soaked corn, all behind Vance's green and silver dodgers. We are seeing Koks in the 40 to 50 feet depths and even some at 80 feet. The surface temperature is 58.8 degrees in the morning and warming in the afternoon to 60.3 degrees.

King Salmon and Kokanee are showing up in good numbers in Fleming Bay. The 12 to 13 inch Kokanee kept us busy while we waited on the 2 to 4 pound Kings. We found the Kings holding 80 to 90 feet deep, and the Kokanee suspended in the 30...... Read More
