We saw some SERIOUS limits of trout and bass this past week! The Auburn Bassmasters brought up 10 boats for their tournament and EVERYONE limited out on Bass, and most caught and released all day long! The bass are in their pre spawn mode and hanging out in the shallows on the east side in 8? to 10? of water. Surface temps ran from 50 to 53 degrees that day and the bass ranged from 3 lbs. to 5 lbs. in size.

Since this last storm, the lake has risen from 34? down to 31? down and more rain is expected. Our boat launching ramp is fully functional. On Feb. 27th we received a double PRIVATE TROUT PLANT, (1,800 lbs.) and fishing from the shore with expectations of catching a limit is not a problem at all.

Dalton Branson from Orangevale was just tossing a Kastmaster from his campsite and landed a 4 lb. trout!! Rick Grimmett and his son Gus are frequent fishermen here at our lake and true to form they caught 9 beautiful trout while trolling a Rapala, and their biggest weighed 2 lb. 12 oz.

Kortlyn King from Sacramento used chartreuse green PowerBait along the shoreline at the beach and caught a nice trout that was 1-1/4 lbs. Orange PowerBait did the trick for John Reed from Plumas Lake who took home 4 nice trout for supper.

Ricardo Gomez and his Pop (Giovanni) caught 3 trout and their big one was a plump three pounder!! Big Bob and Little Jessica Spencer each caught a Rainbow trout by the dam on rainbow PowerBait.

Jerry Olson trolled the east side using a nightcrawler trailed behind a Dodger and hooked a 3 lb. 8 oz. trout.

Kristi, Sierra, Brandon, Chris, Kaylan & Joseph hit the JACKPOT!!! Their stringer held 16 trout, the biggest two trout were 5 lbs. and 3 lbs. and they caught them all from shore near the dam on rainbow PowerBait. Tony Schroeder from Citrus Heights caught his limit of trout while trolling with worms.

Elaine Briefman told her husband she was going fishing and she would be home in an hour with her limit of trout, and that's exactly what she did! She fished on the beach with PowerBait and her biggest trout was a hefty 2 lb. 8 oz.

Kelsey & Kylee from Roseville fished from the shoreline near the dam using worms and hooked 3 trout and a bass. Their biggest trout was near 3 pounds! Scott Jordan fished with Faith and it's a good thing he brought her cause she brought him good luck! They hooked 3 trout and the big one on their stringer weighed 3 pounds.

Alfred & Laura Vegors fished with their girls (Emily & Hailey) and had a terrific fishing day! From shore they caught four nice trout (two of them over 2 lbs.) and a nice Bass. The Xiong family also did amazing, their stringers held 13 trout and 3 bass and they were shore fishing by the dam using PowerBait.

Chris Hazen from Grass Valley had two fabulous fishing days here while shore fishing with Powerbait by the dam. The first trip was with Max and they both limited out and the second trip with Ron netted them two limits as well. My cousin Mica Fish (the old man and the dogs in the boat) limited every day on their camping trip this past week. Bob Hess caught fish with him as well, and his granddaughter Macy Rose brought some...... Read More
