The lake fell to 25 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing was fair. Reports from Kaweah were limited due to rapidly changing water levels, rain, and cold weather. Based on prior weeks, spotted bass continued to take drop shot and finesse baits in 10 to 30 feet of water, and a slow presentation worked best. Deeper fish responded to vertical spoons, while deep-diving crankbaits produced near rocky structure. Crappie fishing remained hit or miss, with anglers catching fish on small swimbaits and live minnows after locating schools. Catfish anglers reported fair results on frozen sardines, anchovies, and dip bait.
