Fishing remained fair at BV, but that will change this weekend with the annual Taft Chamber of Commerce Trout Fishing Derby. The Derby starts at 6am on the 18th. You can register for the derby at Copes. Bass anglers reported fooling fish with green pumpkin wacky rigged weightless Senkos near the cattails and reeds. Largemouth also took drop shot and Texas rigged plastic worms near cover. Catfish anglers used cut baits, dip bait, and garlic scented nightcrawlers to get bit, and crappie fell for small live minnows and minijigs near the islands.
