6/23:20:
Well Eagle Lake has been open for a month now. We have found willing Eagle Lake Trout in many areas of the lake. This is what’s going on currently:

Eagles Nest Ronald McDonalds:  trolling from the surface to 18 feet deep on spoons, worms and grubs. The surface bite is early, before the sun is on the water.

Wildcat Point: Troll spoons shallow early then work them deeper after sun up and the day warms. Catching fish all the way down to 23 feet here.

Shrimp Island: same as Wildcat Point.

Pelican Point to Slough Point: This is still my go to area. We are starting by 5:30 and fishing shallow water from 5-20 feet deep with grubs, spoons, and flies. The bite in this area will  be hampered by the current heat wave with surface water temperatures already reaching 65. START EARLY! We will move south to deeper water and adjust our methods as the weather dictates.

Whether you are fishing with me or not, don’t hesitate to contact me if you need an up to the minute fishing report, recommendations for RV space, lodging, camping or whatever.
