The Bay is Kicking Out Huge Numbers of Halibut & Striped Bass

San Francisco Bay is still kicking huge numbers of halibut and striped bass for those on the drift using live anchovies.  Some charter boats catching as many as 30 to 50 halibut per outing along with limits and near limits of striped bass for their clients.  Most of the action is coming off the Berkeley Fats, Angel Island, Alcatraz, Paradise Bay, South Bay and South Hampton Shoals.  The average halibut is weighing 10 to 14 pounds, up to an occasional 20 to 30 pounder.  The striped bass have been averaging about 8 pounds.
