There are usually spring run Halfpounder Steelhead below the hatchery in the low flow section but be sure that the area you fish is open. They will be eating caddis and small salmon.
Down in the lower section at Star Bend they will be dumping juvenile salmon and steelhead so the Stripers should be there in force.
Try Shad and Stripers are the mouth of the Feather where it flows into the Sacramento for the next 3 months.

Bill, It's been a while since I sent you a fishing report from the Lower Sac, well to keep it brief the fishing is excellent. There are still Salmon spawning on the Redds, some big ones at that. There is a good Mayfly Hatch going on, both BWO's and Sulphur Duns. Of course the trout are still showing a preference for the Salmon Egg imitation. The Spring Caddis hatch has started early as well.
