Fishing at Lafayette Reservoir has been good lately. Now that the heat spell is over the cool air should mean fish will be biting more. On May 14th the water temperature at 6ft is 69 degrees, and at 4 ft its 71.4 degrees. On May 13th Jim O'Connell caught 2 trout using worms. One trout weighed 5lbs and the other weighed 4.5 lbs. On July 6th it is a free fishing day in the state of California. On May 14th Mt. Lassen planted 1,000 lbs of trout, which brings our season total so far to 33,000 lbs of trout planted so far. Our next trout plant is scheduled for May 20th for 1,000 lbs of trout from Mt. Lassen.
