As of last report fishing really stunk! A week ago the mouth blew open and things took off finally! For the last week it's been wide open on the lower river. We have been enjoying the type of fishing we are used to down here. Easy limits and then some. We got a pretty good shot of rain last night and the fishing was a little slow today. Things will be back to normal in a day or so.

I only have a few days left on the lower river. I will be fishing in the first Cal-Ore derby on the Klamath this weekend. After the derby I'll be heading up river to head off all those steelhead I was talking about in earlier reports. I've been having a few boats out up near Happy Camp. The fishing is just getting started up there. There is quite a few half pounders and more adult steelies showing every day.
I'll let you know how the derby was in the next report.
