Shasta is 78' down, the surface is 79 degress. The fish have settled in the thermocline and the shad are moving down as well. The fish are on a strong bite as they feed on the abundant shad schools. Fishing on the lake continues to produce Excellent numbers of Trout and Salmon. The Trout are coming in from the to 50' deep to 100' deep. Try Nickel Blue, Nickel Green or Glow Shad in deeper water. The Salmon are bitting in the deeper water 75' to 150' deep. The hot baits are Paddle-tails in Shad Patterns, Flee Bittys and Sling Blades and Koke-A-Nuts and Pee Wee or Sling Blades and Cripplures or Hum Dinger in Blue or Purple or Glow Shad. Ben Raimondi and I Fished 3 today. Worked the area just West of No Name Island. Caught more than 20 Trout and a few Salmon in 3 hours. The largest Trout an Eagle Lake Strain 3 pounds. The hot Lure today was the Glow Shad Cripplure behind the new Super Glow Sling Blade Blue Pink Dot. Also did well on the Flee Bitty's and Hum Dingers behind the 6" Sling Blades. Pro Cure Shad Gel is a Must!!
