Shasta is 60' down, the surface is 74 degress. The fish are scattered as the lake warms and the thermocline developes. However, Fishing on the lake continues to produce good numbers of Trout and Salmon. The Trout are coming in From the Surface to 36' deep to 55' deep. Try Nickel Blue, Nickel Green or Glow Shad in deeper water. The Salmon are bitting in the deeper water 55' to 150' deep. The hot baits are Paddle-tails in Shad Patterns, Flee Bittys and Sling Blades and Koke-A-Nuts and Pee Wee or Sling Blades and Cripplures or Hum Dinger in Blue or Purple or Glow Shad. A few Brown coming in as well. Last Trip we fished West of Beaver Island Caught several Trout and Salmon up to 4 pounds. The hot baits were the Paddle-Tails and Flee Bitty's behind the 6" Sling Blades. Also caught fish on the Hum Dingers. Some good Salmon reported around SKi Island as well 55 to 100 feet deep. Pro Cure Shad Gel is a Must!!
