Kevin Chao and Al Hurwitz trolled Los Vaqueros Reservoir (LVR) on November 5, 2026, trying to catch Rainbow Trout. Kevin caught one very nice Mt. Lassen Rainbow weighing 2 pounds in the middle of Cox Cove (photo attached). Earlier on in the day, after a big strike in cox Cove, a fish broke the line, possibly a Striped Bass. It was a beautiful fall day, and the water was very clear with a surface temperature in the mid sixties. The dock staff said the Trout bite has been erratic and a bit slow. However, aggressive Trout stocking is now underway, and we anticipate larger numbers of them will be caught in the weeks and months ahead.  We’ll be back soon to give it another shot!
