Fishing at Donner is fair overall, with the best bite happening early. Surface temps are in the mid-60s°F, and while Kokanee action has slowed, small pods are still holding around 50 feet—pink or chartreuse hoochies behind a dodger are working best. Mackinaw remain deep at about 160 feet and are taking large plugs. Shore anglers are finding some success at the west-end ramps and China Cove with worms or PowerBait. Once the sun gets high, boat traffic and warming water slow the action.
