Success Lake rose to 21 percent of its capacity, and fishing has been fair. Bass anglers worked deep diving shad patterned crankbaits, jigs, spoons, and plastics in 10 to 40 feet of water for fair results. The best bet has been to toss cranks early and then switch to spoons and finesse baits later in the day. Crappie reports indicated the panfish have been holding in tight schools over submerged rocks and brush. Minijigs and small swimbaits connected for some anglers. Catfish ate cut mackerel, chicken liver, and dip bait. Rainbow trout fell for the usual lineup of dough bait, minijigs, and spoons.
