Castaic Lake rose a couple of feet to 76 percent of its capacity, and anglers continue to report fair fishing. The trout bite has slowed, but we are still receiving reports from anglers landing fish on dough baits, minijigs, and lures. Large and smallmouth have been holding out in 15 to 50 feet of water, and finesse options have been the best way to get bit. Small C3 baits like the Ice Pick on the Carolina rig have been getting the best results. Drop shot and Senkos also produced for bass anglers. Striped bass ate cut sardines and live worms along the dam and at the West Ramp. Trollers produced some line-sides with umbrella rigs and flycoring techniques. Catfish anglers soaked dip baits and chicken liver for decent results.
