The lake is near maximum capacity and still rising

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

The lake is near maximum capacity and still rising. Bass anglers reported a good finesse bite while using drop shot Roboworms, shaky heads, and small jigs with a twin tail trailer. Aaron’s Magic, Green Pumpkin, and Ox Blood have all been producing. Anglers also reported catching bass on crankbaits along main and secondary points in deeper water. Topwater anglers have been reporting success as well. Crappie can be located over submerged brush and rocks, and they will eat small live shiners, swimbaits, and minijigs. Catfish anglers fooled whisker fish with dip bait and chicken liver.
