Kaweah Lake rose to 92 percent of capacity

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

Kaweah Lake rose to 92 percent of capacity, and anglers reported catching a lot of smaller bass. Stick baits, drop shot, and Ned rigs all worked to boat plenty of fish. Anglers also reported finding better fish on jigs over points and deep structure. The topwater bite is starting up and Whopper Ploppers and poppers both fooled fish. Crappie anglers did well near Horse Creek while tossing Get Bent Baits Shad Sliders and minijigs. Catfish ate smelly baits like dip bait and chicken liver.
