Anglers fished deep for bass in cold murky water

Lake Kaweah - CA (Tulare County)

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

Kaweah Lake fell to 13 percent of capacity, and fishing was fair. Anglers fished deep for bass in cold murky water. Jigs, drop shot and spoons were the ticked for bites in 20 to 40 feet of water. A few anglers reported catching limits of spotted bass using finesse techniques and a slow retrieve. Trout were planted last week, and anglers fed them dough baits, Mousetails, nightcrawlers, and lures for easy limits. Catfish anglers used cut sardines, chicken liver, and dip bait to land some decent whisker fish.
