Any boat over 20 feet is not recommended for launching into Stampede because of the low water levels. Anglers shore fishing can try using inflated nightcrawlers with a marshmallow for best results. Anglers trolling for trout can find them staged on the northwest corner of the reservoir near the Sagehen Creek and Little Truckee River arms. The Kokanee and bass bite are just about done for the season at Stampede Reservoir. Some smallmouth are still around, but the bite is limited.

Stampede Reservoir is currently at 35% capacity.
