TROUT

There is an extremely large number of planter trout all over the lake which can be caught from both a boat and off of the bank. Anglers are also bringing a occasional holdover trout and Brown trout over the rail. Many of the trout are becoming more active in the afternoons but there is plenty to be caught throughout the day. A good set up for trolling for the trout right now would be to use Speedy Shiners, Apex's, Rapalas or Kastmasters from 30 feet deep to a topline. From the bank a good way to catch the trout would be to use powerbait, power eggs or worms with the weight being a foot and a half to two feet from the hook or using a sliding sinker. They can also be caught with small Rapalas, Kastmasters or spinners at dawn and dusk.

BASS
The bass fishing on the lake contrary to popular belief is doing well at the moment. They are deeper than usual for this time of year most of the active groups of fish can be found on long tapering points from 40 to even 70ft deep, the best option to catch the bass at the moment is to use small spoons, shad pattered dropshot or heavier jigs.

CATFISH
There is a few catfish being caught here and there but for the most part the bite has died off, it should begin to pick back up really well in the spring time.

CRAPPIE
The crappie fishing is just beginning to pick up and should get better if we get some colder weather, rain and snow in higher elevations this will make them become more active. They can be caught with minnows, dropshots, spoons and crappie jigs. The best bet would be to jig up next to trees in a creek arm that has plenty of bait. It seems that the majority of the crappie are sitting between 35-50ft suspended against structure. Glory Hole Sports will be once again have in stock medium, and large minnows.
