Kokanee are Biting More Frequently Near the Middle

Stampede Reservoir has an early to mid morning Kokanee bite and is also a consistent place for Bass fishing. The bass and trout are biting near the damm with kastmasters, rooster tails, small rapalas, and nightcrawlers.  and Kokanee vary in depth throughout the day, but generally anglers can find them between 30-60 feet. Kokanee are biting more frequently near the middle of the reservoir or up the Sagehen Creek arm. Hot color choices for Kokanee fishing have been green and pink. Stampede Reservoir is currently at 55% capacity.
