Boca reservoir is still low because of the dam construction.  Because of the low water level, anglers have been finding great shore fishing by the Little Truckee inlet side. This area remains steady for decent trout. Remember, anybody fishing moving water needs to use barbless hooks and it is catch and release. Anglers should use kastmasters, panther martins, rapalas, or worms off the bottom for bait. Some flies to try would be leech patterns or callibaetis. Boca reservoir is currently at 23% capacity.

Anglers are catching Mackinaw Trout around 90-100 feet in depth and rainbow trout around 30 feet. If anglers are top-lining for rainbows, try using wedding rings, small rapalas, and nightcrawlers. Donner Lake is currently at 98% capacity. ...... Read More
