It has been raining the past two days, much more today than yesterday. I fished my client Brant Smith of Danville Ca on Tuesday between storms. The fish gods must have been on our side on Tuesday, as we only had a minor shower during the trip, although it was pretty cold with a few wind gusts mixed in. The great thing about all that weather was the Steelies didnt care. We had constant action throughout the day landing Steelhead up to 4 pounds, mostly swinging streamer flies. We did fish a bit with the glowbugs under an indicator and probed a few spots with a hotshot worm combo just to see if there were some fish in the area. The half pounder bite is excellent and we are seeing a few more adult Steelies as we head into Winter. The weather report is saying it will be wet and rainy through the weekend and by Monday we should cloudy with some sun mixed in. Sounds like Winter Steelhead season is here!!
