Fishing on the Klamath River is excellent. My client George and I hooked over 50 Steely/Trout while drifting from the Irongate Hatchery to the Klamathon Bridge, yesterday. We put 30 fish in the net while backtrolling a Rebel Crawdad plug on one rod and a Luhr Jensen Hotshot worm combo on the other. We caught fish all day in the 12 to 20 inch range, these Steely/Trout are fat and healthy and hungry. They put up a great battle on light tackle. We were using 9 foot custom made 2-6 pound spin rods made by Rogue Rods matched up with Pflueger President size 30 spin reels spooled with clear Yo-Zuri hybrid 6 pound line. We were the only boat on the River and the weather was near perfect. It is time to go fishing if you have the chance.
