What a difference a month makes!! On January 1st the lake was still at an all time low and February 1st we are at 57% capacity with only 24 ft. more to go before our lake spills! Of course our hope would be to fill up entirely but even if that doesn’t happen this year, we would still start the season the same as last year. Although the lake is murky from the influx we still have seen some fish being caught. This week the lake’s clarity is much better than last week, so next week will be even better!! Next week we will receive our first double plant of trout which will include some very large ones.

Jim Fowler of Placerville landed a nice 4 lb. Rainbow near the marina using yellow PowerBait. Ethan Cardwell was trolling a minnow and flasher and hooked a 2 lb. 8 oz. Bass.

Natalia & Mikayla Smith and Skyla Buchanan caught 10 trout from shore on an inflated nightcrawler/with PowerEggs. They were really nice ones too. Skyla’s biggest weighed 2 lb. 8 oz., Natalia’s big one weighed 2 lb. 3 oz. and Mikayla’s big trout was 2 lb. 7 oz.

Congrats to Matthew Chang from Sac. for catching his 1st Rainbow trout EVER!! He fished by the boat ramp at road 4 and he was using PowerEggs (yellow). Addison Seino from Yuba City used green PowerBait and hooked two nice trout from shore.

Corey Underwood & Riley Christopherson from Sutter fished by the sand beach caught two trout using PowerBait, and the big one was a hefty 2 pounds!
