Winter time on the Pit River means solitude and good fishing! Once again, reports this week have been good. Anglers are finding productive fishing, but they are moving around from run to run, section to section. Be aware this week of snow and ice on the roads around the Pit River. Go prepared with snow chains/tires, shovel and emergency jackets and winter clothing. Bring a sleeping bag just in case you get stuck. The Pit is remote and few people venture to fish here in the winter. If your car/truck battery dies.. you may have to walk out or spend the night.. don't laugh. It happened.
