Trout Fishing
The lake temperature has dropped to 58 degrees and that seems to have brout the trout bite back usethe sliding sinker rig and night crawlers or powerbait works good also. Using a lure is also working wellright now fish with a fire-tiger kast-master or rapala J-7.

Catfishing
Fishing for catfish is best by the boat launch. There is a lot of catfish that seem to be hungry. Manycatfish are being caught by trout fishermen. To increase chance of catching a catfish use stinky bait like chicken livers or anchovies.

Bass Fishing
The bite is still on for the bass fishermen. Top spots are the Rock wall, Sather Canyon and near the Main Rec. Throw shad colored spinner baits or drop shot robo worms.

Kevin Saefong of Oakland caught a large catfish. I promised him l would post as soon as I found the picture.

Luca 7 years old no last name given of Berkeley caught a catfish weighing Slbs in the preserve area using worms on Saturday 5-16-15.

Mike no last name given of San Pablo caught a 7lb Rainbow Trout using night-crawlers in scow canyon on Monday 5-18-15.

Danny Chao of Concord caught 2 trout weighing 10.9 and 7.11 lbs using power-bait at the main rec on Monday 5-18-15.

Bob Jones of South San Francisco caught a rainbow trout weighing 8.8 lbs using a kast-master the the Launch Shoreline on Wednesday 5-20-15.

Jim Folan of Mill Valley caught a catfish weighing 8.35 pounds using a worm/marshmallow combination in Scow Canyon on Wednesday 5-21-15.

Shak Ansari and Friend of Union City caught 2 limits of Trout weight of stringer 16.03 using power-bait at Sandy Point on Thursday 5-21-15.

John Myers of Hayward and Friend caught 2 limits of trout the largest weighing 12.5 lbs on Friday 5-22-15 at Sandy Point.

Titus Saephan of El Cerrito of El Cerrito caught a trout weighing 8.85 using a night-crawler at Sandy Beach on Saturday 5-23-15.

John Rocco and friend of San Francisco caught a limit of trout the largest two weighing 8.58 and 6.62 using rapala’s at Sandy Beach on Saturday 5-23-15.

Mike Weldon of Walnut Creek caught a rainbow trout weighing 8.86 using power-bait at the main-rec on Sunday 5-24-15.

Derby

The Main Rec is holds a monthly trout derby. The largest three trout weight in for that month get prizes. It S5 to enter the derby. You must buy your ticket before fishing that day.

Park Information

The San Pablo Reservoir Recreation Area is now open for the season with the hours during May being 6:30 am to 7:30 pm and boats need to be off the water by 6:00 pm. The Boat Launch area is open 7 days a week with snacks, drinks and tackle available. The Café is also open 6 days of the week from 9:00 — 3:30 so visitors can get some delicious food.
