These two lures performed very well for us. For lure selection – whether trolling, casting, or jigging – realize the resident forage fish are flashy. I believe your presentation should also produce flash, especially in relatively low visibility water.

Views southeast to Keddie Ridge, the northernmost tip of the Sierra Nevada.

And don't discount scouting the coves from winter through spring.

The birds are your guide. Once you locate a group of birds, don’t motor in hot, rather ease in and scout the area for baitfish. The trout shouldn't be very far away.

I got lucky with big fish, a 7.2 pound brown...fooled by a Rapala jig made for hard water (ice) fishing. Don't scoff at jigging.
