Eagle Lake Fish Report

Eagle Lake - Susanville, CA (Lassen County)

Fishing continues to be excellent.  The south basin survived the below zero temps and has plenty of open water for now.  High temps around freezing, low temps still close to zero. Water temp is between 39 and 41.5 degrees.  Courtesy dock has been out of the water for about 9 days.  The ramp has snow/ice nearly to the edge of the water.  Bring chains just in case if you choose to launch.  Waders/hip boots are advised for launching.

The bite is just as good as it has been.  Catching and releasing large numbers of fiesty fat trout on several different patterns of flies.  Brown size 10 0X wooly bugger gets sucked up within minutes (sometimes seconds) of hitting the water.  Basically hitting double digits in a short time.
