Flows are down to 50 cfs. That is not too bad for this time of year but the fish are starting to get a little spooky. Approach holes and runs carefully and take your time to look for rising fish. There are opportunities to catch fish on the surface if you use a stealthy approach. Try PMD's and Baetis dries in size 16-20. Nymphing is also worth a try with small indicators or even a dry dropper set up. Mid mornings are best.

Fly fishing remains very good on the Truckee. The flows remain perfect from the Town of Truckee down toReno. The best times to fish are in the mornings before it gets hot and then again the last hour or two before dark. In the mornings, nymphing has been the best.
