Cooler weather has trout coming closer to the surface (still at about 30-35 feet deep) with the baits of choice being night crawlers and rainbow and chartreuse colored power bait.

In anticipation of the Trout Derby, fish plants should start during Halloween week as long as Mother Nature cooperates with colder weather. Trout catches have been reported near the bridge by trollers using naked night crawlers as well as near the edge of the Peninsula (Eagle Beach) are also trolling with needlefish in about 25 feet of water.

We would like to thank the Bass Reapers fishing club out of Farifield/Suisun area as well as the Folsom Bass Team for having their tournaments with us this last weekend. We welcome the Manteca Bass & Buddies who are planning their bass tournament on Saturday, Nov 3rd.

Got a good story about "the one that got away" or an awesome fish recipe that you'd like to share?
