FISHING REPORT
Fishing in general, has been better on weekdays as opposed to weekends as there are less people in the park and in the water.

Trout are still being caught but at much greater depths due to the heat. Most anglers are reporting luck at about 45 feet deep.

Look forward to trout plants starting again sometime late next month once the colder weather comes in. Remember we can plant as long as the surface temperature of the water is 69'F or colder so the fish don't get shocked as they enter the water.

Ever see trout being planted? Check out our Facebook page under "VIDEOS" and see clips from the last 2 years.

Catfish like stinky bait. Cut bait, chicken livers, cheese and night crawlers are some of the most common baits used. It's always a good idea to have a few choices available and switch them up if you aren't getting any bites. Still not catching catfish? Try another location.

HINT: Fresh chicken liver holds on the hook better than frozen which tends to get mushy when thawed.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Both stores are open 7 days a week. Camanche Recreation Area is open 365 days a year. Gate hours are 5:00 am - 11:00 pm
