The San Pablo Reservoir marina and boat launch is open 7 days a week until the end of October from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. After October 31st (next weekend), the park will be close for the winter opening, February 16th. All boats must be off the water one hour prior to the park closing. Currently the lake is 306 feet above sea level and the surface temperature is 68 degrees. When you catch a fish, please bring it to the Visitor Center and we will give you a picture and post a copy to the Wall of Fame for the rest of the season. The last trout plant for the season is Friday, October 7th.

Trout
The trout bite has returned. We have seen several limits from the shore as well as trolling. Throughout the season a variety of Rapalas, Panther Martins and Rooster Tails have been successful. These types of lures are great for trolling. If you want to bait fish for trout use Power Eggs in the following colors: white, chartreuse rainbow and spring green. A combination of Power Eggs and Power Worms makes for a great catch! Berkeley PowerBait can also attract trout using these colors: white, chartreuse orange, cheese and yellow. We also carry a nice variety of mice tails. For live bait, we carry large and mini nightcrawlers and jumbo red worms. Hurry in so you don't miss the last trout bite of the season.

Bass
The bass bite has been good. Spotted bass and largemouth bass have been hitting on Berkeley Warmouth, Pumpkinseed and Watermelon Candy Worms as well as Crazy Legs Chigger Crawlers. Fishing has been the best around the coves in 2 to 5 feet of water.

Catfish
With 9,500 pounds of catfish planted this season the bites continue. Although the catfish haven't been large, the numbers of catfish have been impressive. The majority of catfish have been caught inside Scow Canyon. Other hot spots have been the Visitor Center, the boat launch and The Pines. Cats are biting on chicken livers, nightcrawlers, Bloody Blood Gulp Catfish Dough and PowerBait Catfish scent.

Crappie
The crappie bite has been excellent! We have had several limits from Scow Canyon and along the Rock wall. When fishing from shore, try fishing around some type of cover such as docks or logs. Most of the time you will find them suspended in the middle, so don't fish on the bottom. Try a number 12 hook and a worm of PowerBait Crappie Nibbles about 3 feet below your bobber. If fishing with a crappie jig, let it settle to the bottom. Twitch it a couple of times off the bottom, pick it up and let it re-drop.
