Lake Pardee has receded to approximately 4 feet below spill. Good visibility to 15 feet, water temperatures have remained unchanged, 63 degrees at the 20 foot mark and 67 at the surface as recorded in the Marina.

The best area for trout continues to be along the eastern side of the Lake from the Sugar Bowl through the Narrows and a bit beyond Mel's Cove. Some others have done OK in the River Arm starting at the Mouth and trolling all the way to Twin Coves and beyond.

Small lures, needlefish, wobblers, Sep's and Uncle Larry's fire tiger all tipped with scented with corn or a bit of night crawler behind a dodger still the best combination. Some boaters have opted to tie off way up river at Columbia and beyond and have done well bait fishing.

No news on Kokanee fishing since last report. They aren't schooling in any particular spot or area. Last report had them deep to 70 feet. Lures and method remain constant, Apex lures tipped with scented shoe peg corn, Uncle Larry's pinky, and copper pops with corn, pink/white hoochies all behind a small Sep's dodger(in rainbow, silver/blue or gold) have all been working well for the Trollers.

The bank fishing is the best right after the plant in and around the Recreation Area. The continuing cool water temperatures encourage planters to hold in the Recreation Area longer. Hot spots recently have been Rainbow Point and around the spillway at Stony Creek Rd. Kastmasters continue to be super hot, silver/blue and silver/chartreuse  ? oz size. The sliding sinker set up is best paired with any color Power Bait as long as its garlic flavored.

Recent success stories; Haley Johnson, in main photo of Tahoe got a nice 7.26 lb cat using chicken liver at an undisclosed location. Shaun(Boy)Robbins of Jackson got this great limit of Trout off Rainbow Point using night crawlers. Haley and Shaun-well done-congratulations!!

Catfish are partial to chicken livers and are biting in the coves all along the eastern side of the Lake from Mel's to Rattlesnake Coves. Pardee Lake Recreation has planted 68,000 lbs in combination the California Dept of Fish and Game plants of 6,200 lbs for a grand total of 75,000 lbs of Rainbow Trout.
