Rainbow trout fishing here on Lake Don Pedro continues to improve daily as the surface temp declines. It looks like it will be a fantastic Fall for Pedro's big Bows. Areas that are very productive this past week in no certain order were, Mexican Gulch, off Schoolhouse Point, the Big Creek Arm, Graveyard Bay and into Oat Hill Bay, and remember as I mention these areas I'm only covering about one third of Don Pedro. Bows and a few King Salmon are holding from the surface down to 45' with my most productive setups being rolled Thread Fin Shad, Shasta Tackles Matrix Paddle Tails, Slim Fins in Cop Car and Modesto's own Ex-Cel lures in Red head.

Trolling speed for me is a comfortable 1.5 mph with lures set back 50' to 75' behind the ball. Rainbows are on the average one to two pounds with bigger fish a solid four pounds. King salmon plus or minus 16" with a few holdover Kokanee to two pounds.
