The Little Truckee is running at about 590 cfs. You have to fish it more like the Big Truckee right now. Use big flies, lots of weight and fish slower moving water. Usually the Little Truckee runs high until about June 15th when the water is cut back to its normal summer flows. March Brown's, Baetis, San Juan Worms and midges are all working.

The run-off is minimal this spring and the River is already fishing well. There are a couple of tributaries that are flowing pretty hard and the lower river is a little high. From Boca Bridge upstream to Tahoe City the Truckee is perfect. Czech nymphing has been very effective and there has even been some dry fly activity.
