Hello fishermen:??

The fishing season on the Smith and Chetco rivers are over now.?? The Chetco River is closed at this time and the Smith is still open from the forks down.?? So you can still fish the Smith for the few downers that are left.?? We did not see to many fresh fish the last part of the season, but there are a few Blue backs in the system.?? Over all the season was a good one.?? We did not see a lot of real big Steelhead but we did catch a lot of fish.?? The rivers stayed at great levels most of March this was do to the snow melt.?? This did make the water pretty cold and the fish did not bite as well, but at least they did.?? The only river that is fishing pretty good at this time is the upper Rogue.?? There are still a few Steelhead coming up and there are downers still around.?? I will be fishing there for this month and then I will start fishing for the Trout on the upper Klamath River.?? This will depend on the run off and the weather.?? But by May we should be looking good for the fly fishing and then the Salmon fly hatch will start toward the end of the month.?? So if you want a lot of action and some warm weather the upper Klamath is the place to be.??

Hope to see you on the river.
Albert
