Shasta Lake Brown and Rainbow Trout continue to feed like pigs on the shad. The summer feeding session has been going on for months now and these fish are fat and healthy and ready for you to catch and eat.
I have been trolling between 80 and 130 feet the past week with plugs and dodgers and hootchie spinners. The shad imitation plugs have been producing best overall and the first light bite has been the best bite.
This past week the trout ranged in size from 2 to 4 pounds. These fish continue gorge themselves on shad, mostly baby shad now that they have spawned. Downsizing my plugs helped the fish hold on better but we are still seeing lot of short strikes.
Checkout the pics then give me a call 530 905 0758 or book online at Caldwellfishing.com and lets put some of these tasty trout on your dinner plate.
