Success dropped a couple of feet, and water temperatures were in the mid to high seventies. Many anglers focused on the morning and evening hours to avoid the heat, and the results were good. Largemouth were reliable on topwater baits, crankbaits, and 8-inch plastic worms near submerged trees. Bass were also located on rocky structure along main and secondary points. Some of the better colors were purple and baitfish patterns. Catfish anglers reported continued success fishing after dark with chicken liver and dip baits. Crappie anglers found fish holding deeper near submerged wood, with small live minnows being by far the best bait.
