Summer is here on Shasta Lake and that means all the fish are feeding like it is their last meal. The fish are bathing in plankton blooms and threadfin shad all over the lake. There are football field size balls of food up and down the water column. Bass. Kokanee, King Salmon and Trout are gorging themselves all day and night on this food.
Yes the weather is hot in Redding, but the fishing is really good during this time. This past week we have been hooking up on all species. My clients have caught some really fat Bass, Kokanne and Rainbow Trout. We have also lost a lot nice fish as well. These fish fight hard, rip drag, jump and do really good job at spitting the hooks. It is fishing and that happens but the action is great.
These fish are fabulous eating let me put some in your cooler and on your dinner plate.
