The lake fell to 61 percent of capacity, and the bite remained strong for bass, white bass, and crappie. Spotted bass went for drop-shot rigs, Neko rigs, and Ned rigs in 10 to 20 feet of water, with MMII, Bold Bluegill, and green pumpkin colors working best. The topwater bite was good at times, and when fish pushed shad to the surface anglers found success with poppers and walking baits. White bass also took spoons and white swimbaits. Crappie were readily available on minijigs, and small swimbaits fished near submerged brush, while catfish anglers used cut baits and chicken liver to good effect.
