Effective Tactics
Anglers should approach the Little Truckee River with caution and precision this time of year. Anglers dry fly fishing should always focus on delicate presentations with long leaders. Keep movements minimal and casts deliberate. For anglers nymphing on the Little Truckee River, fish the deeper pools with nymphs like Zebra Midges, San Juan Worms, Drowned Ants, or Split Case Pale Morning Duns. Anglers nymphing should use a 9 foot 5 weight rod with a 5x leader.
