Lake Success rose slightly to 28 percent of its storage capacity, and fishing was decent. Largemouth bass anglers reported catching better-grade fish on deep-diving crankbaits, jigs, and underspins rigged with Keitech swimbaits in rainbow shad. Productive areas remained points, submerged trees, and rocky structure along the dam. Crappie bit on Mini Jigs and swimbaits on points in around 20 feet of water. Catfish anglers found action while soaking sardines, dip bait, and chicken liver. The Department of Fish and Wildlife scheduled a trout plant for the week of January 18.
