Bass anglers reported hit or miss fishing at Kaweah

by Chad Burton and Chris Borden

Bass anglers reported hit or miss fishing at Kaweah with rapidly rising water levels making things tough. Currently the lake is at 95 percent of its storage capacity, so hopefully things will stabilize at that level for a few weeks. Senkos have been a good way to entice bites from the suspended fish, but finesse baits and swimbaits on a ball head jig worked to fool spotted bass as well. Crappie took small live minnows, minijigs, and swimbaits for anglers fishing near Horse Creek. Several anglers reported limits. Catfishing was fair with whisker fish eating dip baits and cut baits.
