Today was my first day back on Shasta Lake since August 2022 and what a welcomed sight it was.  We launched at the Centimudi launch and fished nthe Dry Creek Arm first.  We marked lot's of fish down in the 60'-75' depths but history tells me fishing up higher in the water column gets more bites in the winter.  I wasn't looking for big fish but as many bites as I could find.  The back end of the Dry Creek arm didn't produce but on our way out to the main body, we caught two rainbows on the side planers towing small spoons.  We caught a couple more in front of Big Backbone before picking up and heading to the Sac arm to look around.

Water conditions were great everywhere we fished including the Sac Arm where we got into another 4-5 trout and a nice Spotted bass.  We marked lots of Shad everywhere we went and mixed in were some nice big fish arches lurking just outside of the bait balls.  We kept targeting trout in the 10'-20' range and thats where we got the most action.  We have a big string of storms coming but as of now the lake is in great shape with little in the way of floating debris.  Below are a few lake stats that will help you plan your trip this week.

Open Ramps-  Centimudi, Sugarloaf, and Jones Valley

Water temps-  49-51 degrees surface temp.

Warer clarity- Excellent in the main body and good in the Sac arm.

Lake level-  138' below full pool
