The King salmon fishing has picked up a bit on Shasta Lake and we're seeing Kings come to the net most trips now.  July and August should provide some steady action fishing for Kings again this year.  I've caught them just about everywhere on the lower lake in recent weeks, but we're definitely seeing an increase in the King bites.  Most of our Kings are coming from 45'-55' deep, trolling flasher combos with spoons, bait, Kokanee Cut Plugs, and squid skirts.  The morning bite has been the best, but we are catching a few later in the day too.  Catching Kings early before switching to Kokanee later in the morning has been a good strategy and its filling the ice chests for our clients.  The salmon in Shasta are looking really good.  15"-17" Kokanee are abundant right now and we're seeing Kings in the 2-5 lb range daily.  Stay tuned for more Shasta Lake salmon reports in the weeks ahead.  Thank you!
